Hi,

I have to complie a list of examples in nature (non human) of the '7 deadly sins' to try to link with some human behaviour.

For example

Gluttony: The ornate horned frog. It will eat anything in their path. Even if it is larger/unmanagable.

Envy: recent study into capuchin monkeys suggest they display envy when another monkey is seen to be fed 'better' food

I have more but I was wondering if any others spring to mind?

Thanks for your help!

Peacocks, badgers, bonobos. Greed is hard to distinguish from gluttony in animals other than human, since they don't have many other possessions than food.

Sloth, sloth, sloth... hmm, no, nothing comes to mind.... wink.png

if you can get hold of a replay of the fishing programme shown on ITV4 in UK over the weekend - there was a fish in the amazon that they found floating half dead; it had eaten another fish that was so big it could not physically be swallowed and as a result the predator was suffocating. They pulled the food out of the gullet with some pliers and it looks as if they rescued the predator.

Lust: The spiders who eat the male spider after mating?
Gluttony: was covered above
Greed: the squirrel that did this (youtube)
Sloth: Tricky one. Eeh... I give up.
Wrath: this elephant is pretty angry, although it isn't a deadly sin...
Envy: was covered in the OP
Pride: I dunno. Cats? It is easy to see when they look guilty, so maybe pride is their default look? It doesn't seem to kill them. Instead, we love them for it. smile.png

A group of lions. Not really sure why all of them getting together is a sin, though.
