This is interesting, if what the article states is all correct, then this proves that monopoles do exist. Even in this unstable form, it opens possibilities to creating new forms of technology in the future.

In regards to the concept of the speeding magnet in space idea, what would happen to the field if the magnet approaches the speed of light?

You would get a combination of a magnetic field and electric field.

so the charge would appear on the magnet itself or in an external field? If the charge appears externally, wouldn't that react with the magnetic field to produce an electromagnetic field, and become essentially an oscillator, and transmit EMF?

Interesting. Has anyone ever thought of speeding up a magnet to an as great as possible speed to see if it becomes more and more monopole?

Perhaps the synchronous rotation of the moon could be thought of as displaying this effect, and has resulted in its mono pole alignment with the earth if we consider the lack of rotation the "mono axis"?? Any thoughts?

Nothing "appears". The charge is already there. A magnet is a bit of matter, with protons and electrons in it, as is a current-carrying loop.
