Q1 - Using more than one letter and powers .: Online homework:.

Work out the value of these expressions.

 

 

9(p - q) when p = 14 and q = 6

 

2ab + 6c when a = 3, b = 2 and c = 9

 

92 - tuv when t = 3, u = 7 and v = 4

Work out the value of these expressions.

It seems like you just need to plug in the value they give you for each letter and simplify.

 

For instance, if they give you something like 9 + a and tell you a = 3, then you'll plug in 3 for a, giving you 9 + 3, which equals 12.

 

Try a few, maybe post your results, and if you're still having trouble, then we'll see what we can do.
