aidandavis Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Post all of your good science fair project ideas here. Try making copper sulfate. Dissolve epsom salt in water. connect two 9-volt batteries up in a series circuit. connect those batteries(using wires) to 2 copper leads that hang down into the epsom salt solution After a few days (and many batteries) you will have copper sulfate slowly (very slowly to prevent it from running over you container) pour the copper sulfate through a coffee filter the filtered version is the finished product
Sensei Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 Why don't you use rectifier such as KBPC610 (6 A, 1000 V) which cost $0.5 and optionally fuze (6 A for KBPC610) and capacitor 450 V >100 nF, and regular AC 230 V? You won't be wasting batteries, and will have result very quickly.
Mad-Scientist Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 (edited) Copper sulfate has many industrial and agricultural uses, but is this project efficient and can it be presented in an innovative manner? Edited December 2, 2013 by Mad-Scientist
