caters Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 What do the VSEPR rules say for something with 7 electron clouds around central atom? Would the central atom have to be an alkali metal or a transition metal ion?
AbeMichelson Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 It will depend on the central atom. AX(7-n)En would be the configuration. It would have to be a relatively heavy atom, but can be found with Cr (transition metal), Iodine, and Xenon to give a few examples.
