Maven I'm honored!

 

Children without cloths and food,

Some as young as six,

Stealing things they need to survive,

Credit to a new wave of reganomics.

 

Where’s the good anymore?

Where’s the decency in this world?

I know where: crying in the fetal position curled.

it looks from here like a distant star.

THE DEMOCRATS LAMENT

'Twas the month of November

And all through the land

All Democrat members

Were wringing their hands

 

They still couldn't push

The thought from their minds

That they'd not lose to bush

If more votes they could find

 

They'd lost in the Senate

They'd lost in the house

And the next White House tenant

Would still be that louse.

 

"There must be a reason"

They cried in dismay

"This SHOULD be a season

To be happy and gay"

 

"He stole the election

That's what he's done

Because every projection

Showed WE had it won"

 

"Those people are silly

That's what's occured

Those red state hillbillies

Have judgment that's blurred"

 

"They've too much religion

controlling their lives

And not even a smidgen

of secular drives"

 

"And don't forget Murdock

And his dastardly crews

They kept spewing a crock

On the Fox Evening News"

 

"We'll recount the ballots,

That's what we'll do

And if THAT doesn't do it

We've got lawyers, WE'LL SUE"

 

Then they wrote to the papers

To lodge their complaints

And raised all kinds of vapors

With little restraint

 

But regardless how often

And how hard they tried

There was no way to soften

The harm to their pride

 

So give up the fuss

You poor folks colored Blue

Here is one I wrote for my wife when she turned old enough for social security.

 

On being sixty two

 

Are you concerned 'bout gettin' old

because your sixty two?

Are birthdays pilin' up so fast

it's got you feelin' blue?

 

Well here's a thought in which my dear

you really ought to delve

You're not sixty two today

you're only fifty twelve!

I wrote this last year, I was very depressed.

 

They all left,

Left me here to suffer,

Alone,

Empty,

Blank.

6 blank walls,

Blank,

Pale,

Listless.

Every tick of the clock reminding me that the walls are

Blank,

Blank,

Blank.

And the room is

Empty,

Empty,

Empty.

Blank walls surround me,

Blank minds oppress me.

Staring through the window with heads so empty.

At 9 they fill the room with Valium vapor,

A tolerance for which I have yet to find.

But it makes no difference,

For the room is,

And always will be,

Empty,

Empty,

Empty.
