grace Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Can some one explain why pyridine-metal bond is shorter than secondary amine-metal bond in picolylamine complexes?
rktpro Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 I feel its the other way. Nitrogen in pyridine is less basic than secondary amine, consequently forms a weaker and longer bond. If I am incorrect then some MOT is involved with back bonding.
