Strange Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 I'm not sure what you mean "made by". Photons can be emitted by electrons accelerating or changing energy levels in an atom. But they can also be created by any other charge being accelerated, or by nuclear fission or by many other processes.
timo Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 (edited) No. EDIT: Too late. My elaborated statement was in reply to the very detailed original question, of course. Not to Strange's post. Edited February 23, 2014 by timo 1

Sensei Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 Are photons made by electrons only? Definitely not. Gamma photons can be result of annihilation of electron and positron, but also can be emitted by decaying nucleus (f.e. isomeric transition http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_isomer ), or decaying pion 0 (for example).
Cosmobrain Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 a photon is a photon an electron is an electron
