Lightmeow Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Why is there so much dark energy in the universe if we can't find any naturally? Where is it all? Why is regular energy so special. Why are we so special that we have regular energy?
Cosmobrain Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 It can't be seen because it is energy. It is not matter or something that reflects electromagnetic radiation

mathematic Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Why is there so much dark energy in the universe if we can't find any naturally? Where is it all? Why is regular energy so special. Why are we so special that we have regular energy? According to theory, dark energy is spread uniformly throught the universe. It is manifest only in the acceleration of the expansion of the universe.
Airbrush Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Why is there so much dark energy in the universe if we can't find any naturally? Where is it all? Why is regular energy so special. Why are we so special that we have regular energy? There is so much DE because it permeates ALL of space, and there is a lot of space, enough to overcome gravity and accelerate expansion. We cannot find it because it is so subtle and only is manifested over great distances. It is everywhere. Regular energy is so special because it also converts into matter, which is what we are.
Finalshine Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 isn't the Universe Mostly meant to be Made up of Dark energy and Dark Matter leaving something like 5% Normal Matter to fill the universe..?
mathematic Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 isn't the Universe Mostly meant to be Made up of Dark energy and Dark Matter leaving something like 5% Normal Matter to fill the universe..? Yes. From wikipedia: According to the Planck mission team, and based on the standard model of cosmology, the total mass–energy of the known universe contains 4.9% ordinary matter, 26.8% dark matter and 68.3% dark energy.
