Any idea about an experiment of photosynthesis that I can conduct in a tall tree? :D

I have an louzy idea: pluck a fresh leaf and count the number of bubbles inside Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate slolution with light source. :embarass:

Got better idea?

wrap some black paper or tinfoil around a leaf while it`s still on the tree, do it gently as you don`t want to damage the leaf, but you don`t want any light to enter it either.

leave it like that for a week, then compare that leaf with an untouched leaf. the leaves must be left on the tree.

then you can remove them and look for color differences and even test for sugars in it also :)

Primarygun: the rate of photosynthesis and the occurance of photosynthesis in a tall tree. :D

Thanks, The Resourceful One.

So, how to determine the rate of photosynthesis in a tall tree? My mind is totally blank :-( , hope to get some clues.
