HRamjetTesla Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 (edited) Hello. My name is Joe. I consider it an honor as well as a privilege to be able to talk and communicate here with so many minds that are interested in Science. I am not a scientist myself, and currently do not have any degree, scientific or otherwise. I hope that that is not a problem with my being on this forum.I enjoy theoretical Psychics. I also enjoy complexity science, cybernetics, and AI theory, as well as the theory of reflexology. From my personal experience, I have learned that even though it is hard to get even 8 or 9 scientists to agree on what complexity is, we usually still get back the word complexity. 100 years ago people use to die in bed, with everyone gathered around. That is very different than today. 100 years from now, the species may be part machine. It is just the actual scientific problem of figuring out the wiring. That is a problem I keep with me. I think that as long as the new technology that is developed is given to the user in a voluntary way, that there is no real need to take a pessimistic view of the future, or on today.I would very much like to discuss many aspects of Science here, as well as learn and educate myself, and perhaps ask a question or two.Currently, and I sincerely hope that this will not be inappropriate, I would like to ask if there is any scientist here, or someone with a lot of scientific knowledge, who would be interested in writing my book back. I have spent the last six years writing a novel, and instead of writing the book back myself, as I did with the other two, I thought that it would be a good idea to see if a scientist, or a like minded individual, would be interested in doing it. I think it could give it a new perspective, and to give it that sort of feel, or "mood," if that makes any sense.I am a writer. I have published two novels, and have had poetry and short stories published in 7 different magazines. I am not well known, or heard of, and currently I certainly cannot make a living, or a career, out of doing this kind of work. It is just something that I do. I have also completed one book of poetry.I wish everyone here well, and hope that this is not too off-topic. Thank you to everyone who reads this for your time.Joe Edited April 5, 2014 by HRamjetTesla
davidivad Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 (edited) I am not a scientist nor an author first off. however, I am curious as to what you mean by book back. Edited April 5, 2014 by davidivad
HRamjetTesla Posted April 5, 2014 Author Posted April 5, 2014 The back of the cover, that has a synopsis of the story.
Marshalscienceguy Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 (edited) The back of the cover, that has a synopsis of the story. So you are asking for someone to make a summery of your book? If you have written all these books why cant you write the summary? Edited April 5, 2014 by Marshalscienceguy
davidivad Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 i think he wants a recognizable name to say "this is a great book" 1
HRamjetTesla Posted April 5, 2014 Author Posted April 5, 2014 No, no, not at all. I just thought that if the back of the book were written in a different voice, who could offer some interesting observations on a few of the details, it would make for a more interesting aesthetic, or appearance for the book. Like one of the great physicists of the 20th century Paul Dirac held, if given a choice between something asethic and something true, people would more likely go with the asethic as true. When Richard Feynman put together his updated version of quantum electrodynamics, it turned out that there was no theorem for it, and even messy things could still be true. I guess that I am just looking for a different asethic to go with, one that I could not produce myself, and I thought that a scientific perspective might be interesting, as there are may writings on science and art.
