Help on a Science Project...

Hi guys, I have to do a science project for my G/T Chemistry class (doesn't have to be involving chemistry) and my partner and I are going to test the effect that different substances have on radiowaves.

Our only idea so far is to place things like "DefendAir Radio Shield" paint, metal, glass and other materials in front of a remote for a RC car and record the distances that the car travels.

PLEASE, any ideas would be very much appreciated.

I think you guys have a great idea. Try also putting a microwave oven between the car and the signal. Soemtimes I get interference on my cordless voice-over IP phone line when the microwave is on.

Also, I'm going to move this thread to the Homework Help section and leave a redirect. I think you'll get more response there as opposed to GD.

Alright, I can probably do that, thanks man. The tricky part will be hooking up the microwave outside, lol.

are you just doing an experiment or a write up too?

look up about EMR (electromagnetic radiation), photon's and their interaction and faraday cage

100' extension cord = no sweat, messin' with mom's microwave = dicey at best.

Don't forget varying thicknesses of tinfoil. In front of the RC controller, not in the microwave.
