iNow Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Reality is under no obligation to operate according to the limited common sense and flawed perceptions of humans. According to the advanced work happening in neuroscience and measurements being made by incredible technology, evidence shows that our decisions are made before they ever even enter our consciousness. We do not appear to consciously choose. It seems to happen completely outside of our awareness. Free will appears very much to be an illusion.
magnocrat Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Well limited common sense got us through the age of magic into the age of science so we must not disparage it too much. Reading around there still seems to be a great debate about the illusive freewill. Professor Patrick Haggard declears he is a complex machine and he is a neuroscientist. Neuroscientists must be determinists according to his reasoning. I had to smile when he admite. dhe still chooses what film to watch.
