boatenbn Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 I'm trying to find at least 3 constitutional isomers for CH3NO2 but I'm having trouble. Can someone help me come up with some isomers?
boatenbn Posted May 24, 2014 Author Posted May 24, 2014 So far, I've only come up with one. It looks something like this: O | C-N-O Is it acceptable for one of the structures to have two oxygens with formal charges of -1?
Fuzzwood Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Don't stare yourself blind on the molecular formula. CH3 doesn't have to indicate a methyl group, nor does NO2 automatically mean a nitrogroup.
For Prose Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Hint; think double bond from one of the oxygen atoms to something else
