MirceaKitsune Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 I've finished watching one of the most beautiful science documentaries I've seen so far, Cosmos: A SpaceTime Odyssey. Its author and host, Neil deGrasse Tyson, who I read is an astrophysicist himself, discussed about a lot of fascinating things, with what felt like much involvement and interest for those subjects... many in which I'm interested myself. For this reason, I was wondering if there's any way that everyday people can contact him for science related matters, by email or PM. I found a contact page but it's pretty fuzzy, and mostly takes me to the American Museum of Natural History website. Considering he's a popular person and would be covered in spam if everyone knew, I imagine that might not be possible... but I still thought to ask just in case.
iNow Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 You might tweet him @neiltyson or post to his Facebook page or Instagram profile or send a message to his StarTalk podcast team, but he likely receives thousands or even millions of messages like this every single day already so a response is somewhat unlikely. https://mobile.twitter.com/neiltyson https://www.facebook.com/neiltyson http://instagram.com/neiltyson http://www.startalkradio.net/contact-us/ With that said, I too loved the Cosmos program and agree it was a beautiful update to the also amazing one done by Carl Sagan a few decades ago. I can't wait until my daughter is old enough to watch and enjoy it with me!
imatfaal Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 You could try an old-fashioned letter or postcard to him at the Hayden Planetarium; people appreciate the time taken to handwrite and mail a letter. Or you could try someone nearer to home http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cristiana_Dumitrache
