Strange Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 @ swansont No offence AT ALL, please.... isn't this petty?.... It is actually quite important. Some people seem to think that the job of science is to find "truth" or how the universe "really" is. But those things are inaccessible and are the subject of philosophy, not science. Asking that science should tell us "absolutes" is equally hopeless. There are few absolutes in science, and certainly not when it comes to relative motion. And all scientific knowledge is provisional until new evidence or better theories are found.
Deepak Kapur Posted June 25, 2014 Author Posted June 25, 2014 @ strange Imo, scientists never ever rest, until they have reahed the root of the problem.....and.....THIS IS called finding the absolute truth......
swansont Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 @ swansont No offence AT ALL, please.... isn't this petty?.... Perhaps I misunderstood you, but I thought you were asking a question.
Strange Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 @ strange Imo, scientists never ever rest, until they have reahed the root of the problem.....and.....THIS IS called finding the absolute truth...... That supposes there is a "root" to be reached. I assume we will just keep creating better models.
swansont Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 @ strange Imo, scientists never ever rest, until they have reahed the root of the problem.....and.....THIS IS called finding the absolute truth...... Science doesn't deal in truth, it deals in models.
Deepak Kapur Posted June 26, 2014 Author Posted June 26, 2014 @ strange..........@ swansont AMEN ( A Matter of Enquiry Now)........ for you, imo
