ajb
Is there any way I can obtain latest research journals free...!! If there is a specific article you want then you can try contacting the authors. They are usually happy to supply you with an off print.
tantalus
If there is a specific article you want then you can try contacting the authors. They are usually happy to supply you with an off print. Do you think this would be the most common outcome if a layperson requested a paper out of interest?
CharonY
If it happens rarely enough and the accompanying email presents genuine interest, most authors likely would not have an issue with that. Edited June 22, 2014 by CharonY
ajb
Do you think this would be the most common outcome if a layperson requested a paper out of interest? I doubt many laypeople ask for journal articles. As CharonY states, a clear email with some explanation as to why you want the paper should be enough. Science is not a closed club, most scientists would be happy to share their work with you as long as the interest is genuine.
Ophiolite
Many research papers are available in their entirety online. I recommend the following sources: Pub.Med As the home pages notes, PubMed comprises more than 23 million citations for biomedical literature from MEDLINE, life science journals, and online books. Citations may include links to full-text content from PubMed Central and publisher web sites. Google Scholar Searches for specific topics will throw up hundreds, or thousands of hits, depending on the precision of the query. Many of these will give access to the full paper, while most of the rest will provide at least the abstract. PNAS The Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences contains many papers on the biological sciences. The full papers are available after a year or eighteen months, while selected papers are available in full immediately.
chadn737
There are also some noted open access journals, namely the PLoS journals and eLife, which are of high quality. You can also find occasional open access papers in many journals. Edited June 23, 2014 by chadn737
Dislayer
You can also join Research Gate (http://www.researchgate.net/) which is basically a facebook for scientists. Many researchers (myself included) put up full pdf versions of their manuscripts for people to read.

Many researchers (myself included) put up full pdf versions of their manuscripts for people to read. Are the specific pdfs that can be posted up not constrained by copyright? And if so, is it the case that scientists are ignoring this in an unofficial manner? Edited June 29, 2014 by tantalus
CharonY
Depends on the journal. Many allow you to use pre-print versions of your manuscripts.
