bycatch in one of the reasons the population of dolphins is shrinking, but is was wondering if it could be possible to create a device that emits radio waves of a dolphins warning for a dangerous animal.

and then place this device on fishing boats (e.g. tuna fishing boats) so that other dolphins in the area will go away with the result that there will be less bycatch of dolphins and this is better for the dolphin polpulation.

of course bycatch consist not only of dolphins. longline fishing is also a big problem for sea turtles, sea birds (some endangered) and sharkes. but to that there are already some solutions.

you have the turtle excluder device (TED) that helps turtles in bycatch to excape from the nets.

is would be the best if TEDs would be obligated to every fishing boat. It should also be a rule not to fish with a lot of boats (more than the population of live can handle) on one pecific place so that the marine live in that place isn't completely destroyed.

i also want to say that there is a search engine that donated 80% of its income to a tree planting program in Brazil. i know this has nothing to do with bycatch but if you search with this browser you can help the Earth.

As far as I'm aware, dolphins can't detect radio waves.

Also radio waves don't travel under water.
