Darcia Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Hi there, I was recently excluded from a prestigious university in Australia for having failed two units in Bsc, 2013. I have been battling a long term illness including but not limited to chronic depression, anxiety and insomnia. This illness in addition to other contributing factors can at times significantly limit my ability to study and perform effectively. Since my dismissal i have been proactive in re-applying for the same Bsc, which resulted in 4 university offers that i am currently deciding (Deakin or Macquarie). My passion is in Zoology (major) and behavioral animal science, in addition to Ecology and conservation (minor). I am extremely driven and determined to persist with my chosen career in Zoology and working with animals (also in documentary film) but i fear that the pressure of education through university may continue to be challenging with my current illness. I am constantly looking for other (easier) avenues and have completed an array of work/practical experience, namely in the zoology field. If anyone has any advice/guidance or contacts that may assist in my current predicament, i would be beyond greatful. Please note: I have been dedicated in treating my illness through a treating team. However, my illness is long term and taking a year or two off will not miraculously cure me. i have done so in the past but found it to be ineffective. It does not reflect my capability or potential.
