EdEarl
thinkprogress.org A large umbrella group of churches representing more than half a billion Christians worldwide announced Thursday that it would pull all of its investments in fossil fuels, saying it had determined the investments were no longer ethical. Thank you.
Nicholas Kang
Good, and this means a new step towards renewable energy source and the rise of the green industry.

Nicholas Kang
I am not living in the US, so I am not very sure about this fact but I have always heard of Tea Party and The Republicians and I have an impression of they are crazy from some news I have heard in Malaysia. Ophiolite
I hopeif this will have an affect on the Tea Party and other Christian Republicans who oppose Climate Change. Yes. The effect will be to convince them that the mainstream Christian denominations have, indeed, been corrupted by the Devil. On a side note, I'd like to think that those forum members who believe religion is universally bad and useless and counterproductive and filled with unthinking fools will turn of their DogmaKneejerkTM button for a moment and reflect. Phi for All
This really does give me a great deal of hope. I applaud this decision based on ethical treatment of our environment, and the acknowledgement of the threat of unchecked burning of fossil fuels. Bravo, World Council of Churches!

Sensei
I am also finding it very encouraging. Now, they need to invest in scientists to create free (never patented) cheap, and effective (>15%) solar panels, create (or buy) solar panels creating companies, and sell them as cheap as possible to the all people on the world, or simply give them away for free (with clause not for resale).
