I got this advertisement, or rather this advert. got me in Facebook

 

This website is selling colour blind correction glasses.

 

It has a links to white papers, news channels, Discovery channel.

 

Why and how does it work, and how would you go about checking this?

You don't get actual full color vision like healthy people have. These glasses are nothing but filters. They are purple so green light is blocked by it. Thus green objects appear to be black when wearing these glasses.
