swansont
I am an Electrical Engineering Student. I want to know that how quantum dots can be applicable in Electrical System That's incredibly vague. Which electrical system?
Enthalpy
Most research papers (still a bit early for applications, but coming) deal about electrical systems. More precisely, electro-optical. Generally to produce light from electricity. So the query is still vague.

renedascientist
quantum dots are just nano crystals. some of the possible advances could arise in photovoltaics(solar panels), Light Emitting Diodes.. i think some research is being done on quantum dot displays for electronics. as for their use in solar panels, applying Q-dots allows for a wider spectrum of light to be absorbed by the panel, which would increase its output and efficiency. maybe also used in the newly researched optical transistors.. wonderful technologies. you should try to keep up to date with the lasted if your an electrical engineering student because technology advances exponentially. good luck in your studies http://www.slideshare.net/yash2013/simple-yash heres a nice presentation on them. Q-dots are great for research. i have tons of journals and research papers on them.. dig deep.
