Primarygun Posted March 12, 2005 Posted March 12, 2005 In a dicot. plant, where do they store their food from photosynthesis? Roots, Stem, do they store in their leaves? Mesophyll cells?
Reny Posted March 19, 2005 Posted March 19, 2005 excess food from photosyn is always stored as starch and kept in the cells doing photosyn to be use later in respiration. However, if there are cells that requires food then it will be transported to them via the phloem. these cells are like fruits, flowers, roots etc. Certain plants have storage organs to store these food for latter usage like asexual reproduction such as tuber, bulbs, corm etc.
