About questions

Could I start a Q&A thread where people can post scientific questions? It seems that a great number of threads are devoted to very simple inquiries.

You could, but why not let people post new threads? It's easier to spot thread titles that interest you than it is to read through a long Q&A thread to find things you can answer.

We already have one, and as Cap'n said, the format is not ideal for ease of use.
