Radical Edward Posted April 17, 2003 Posted April 17, 2003 does anyone else here use LaTex for writing reports? I hear it is a good way to do it (albeit complicated) but I don't really have any idea about it myself.
fafalone Posted April 18, 2003 Posted April 18, 2003 this is really similar to another thread, either its deja vu or a glitch in the matrix...
Dave Posted April 18, 2003 Posted April 18, 2003 I've used it for writing up a few notes, but after that I kindof changed over to MS Word and Equation Editor. The main reason is that I completely and utterly hate the Computer Modern font in its entirety, and I really cannot be bothered trying to find out how to change the font because it's ridiculously complicated.
Glider Posted April 18, 2003 Posted April 18, 2003 MS Word really bites. I just can't get into it...and that damned paperclip!...Oh...to be patronised by one's own wordprocessor!...the ignominy! WordPerfect rocks!:bravo:

Dave Posted April 18, 2003 Posted April 18, 2003 Does anyone have any recommendations for decent math typesetting programs? I'm getting quite annoyed with MS Word and Equation Editor.
Radical Edward Posted April 20, 2004 Author Posted April 20, 2004 how about latex? (and the circle of life is complete)
bloodhound Posted April 20, 2004 Posted April 20, 2004 go for MathType its really cool. u can get the 30 day demo which also acts as the full program but needs the key. u can find the key anywhere.
Dave Posted April 20, 2004 Posted April 20, 2004 Don't like MathType, can't set the equations out how I want them Gone back to using LaTeX, much better quality images as well.
