Kev25
Hi all, I fell behind at Uni due to a bereavement and I caught up with Inorganic and Physical Chemistry but Organic I am struggling very much... I have to predict the major product of the attached... I believe it is using Cram's rule but I just do not get it! Any help is greatly appreciated
hypervalent_iodine
The first step before figuring out stereochemistry with Cram's rule is to identify the reaction and product. Have you done this? The Mg reagent should be a huge give-away.
Elite Engineer
The Mg reagent should be a huge give-away. Yea, right? The Mg pratically cries aloud with this kind of reaction...specifically, it a "Grignard reaction". All I can say it's a nucleophilic attack. Altered State
If you have already figured out that you can predict its stereochemistry using Cram's rule, you probably already know what kind of reaction occurs. I can't see where you are stuck.
