Guest xroxybabix Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 Predict what, if any, products will be made from the reaction of silver chloride and copper. Explain your answer...!!
budullewraagh Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 we aren't here to do your homework for you. if you have a question about homework, post it in the homework section. we expect you to put some effort into trying to find an answer.
BenSon Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 I'll give you a clue, reactivity of metals...now your on your own... ~Scott
MulderMan Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 well seen as though copper is above silver in the reactivity series: silver chloride + copper --> copper chloride + silver. not hard at all, you could atleast make it look like your genuinely asking for help.
BenSon Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 Yeah man i thought my clue was a giveaway but geeez... ~Scott
Cyanide Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 Yeah man i thought my clue was a giveaway but geeez... ~Scott Apparently not everyone is motivated enough to do their own work
budullewraagh Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 mulderman.....care to retract that statement?
MulderMan Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 sorry! just like a reflex! i think next time ill just make up answer, or is that not allowed .
MulderMan Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 the thing that annoys me is that im 15 and havent even learnt a thing in school about chemical bonds. and these people come here asking for work to be done that they have supposedly learnt.
budullewraagh Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 i suggest you read linus pauling's nature of the chemical bond. lots of physics involved, but if you can read it and understand it, you'll get a lot out of it
MulderMan Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 ill look into that thanks. i like the more advanced stuff anyway, most of the things in school is common sense. alot of science teachers that i know dont want to promote science or cant be bothered. last week i asked about how do ionic bonds fuction in comparison to covalent. and i got the reply that i dont need to know for your exam that so i wont explain it. most teachers think everyone hates science and its a painful experience, that annoys me immensly also!
BenSon Posted March 19, 2005 Posted March 19, 2005 Yeah my teacher is pretty cynical she came from a better school to my crappyer school this year to get paid more cuz now shes a head teacher. Lets just say our schools rescources suck compared to what she was used too.... ~Scott
MulderMan Posted March 19, 2005 Posted March 19, 2005 did you figure out the difference? yea i think so, one atom gives up an electron to another, making an electrical force to hold them togeather. its just the point of teachers ignorance.
YT2095 Posted March 19, 2005 Posted March 19, 2005 in actual fact the reaction is reversible! you`re all thinking in terms of WET reactions. try thinking Photochromatic glass )
The Thing Posted March 23, 2005 Posted March 23, 2005 Gee, you should really 1st learn the 4 basic types of chem reactions, then you'll know all these, and we wouldn't be here. So learn the 4 basic types of Sythesis, Decomposition, Replacement and Dbl Replacement. Now think, which one does you question fit? Bingo! You got the answer.
