Ganesh Ujwal Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 (edited) Even for animals there are veterinary hospitals, why there is no hospital for plants/trees? Edited December 29, 2014 by Ganesh Ujwal
CharonY Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Eh, how would that make sense? Like digging out your tree and bring it to another place to fix it up? Physiology of plants is not really conducive to medical treatment.
imatfaal Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Plant disease tends to happen at a slower pace so there is little need for emergency centres of treatment, plants tend to be fixed to the ground so easier to go to them rather than bring them to a central point, people have few sentimental attachments to plants... Although I am sure that plant hospitals will exist somewhere - but maybe under other names for special circumstances; maybe places with expert horticulturists for farmers, a meeting point with a bonsai dai-sensei for those that raise tiny trees etc.
ajb Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 (edited) If your plants are in trouble I am sure you can find specialist horticulturists and/or agriculturists to help. I guess you could call these 'plant vets'. Maybe the International Society for Horticultural Science could offer some help in finding local contacts. Edited December 29, 2014 by ajb
Phi for All Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 I guess you could call these 'plant vets'. What a great job that would be. All bark and no bite. 2
StringJunky Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Tree surgeons? They treat trees for diseases as well as cut them.
mothythewso Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 How could you get a sick Sequoia into the ambulance?
