Does this only happen to eliptical galaxies, or can f.i. 3 spiral galaxies also merge at the same time? Or how about 2 spiral galaxies, and 1 elliptical one??
ACG52 Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Any number and any type of galaxies can 'collide'. It simply depends on their relative vectors. If they end up in the same space at the same time, they're colliding. And that's all dependent on gravitational attraction.
