imatfaal Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 http://www.livescience.com/46965-tyrannosaurs-were-pack-animals.html That conclusion is based on the first and only trackway of a tyrannosaurid http://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0103613 And again this was not a T-rex but a much smaller version There is a lot of jumping to conclusions - especially if it gets your press release syndicated by all the newspapers. 1
Delta1212 Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 I'm also going to challenge the idea that the mammoth looks like it's at a disadvantage. Those tusks have much further reach than the T-Rex's mouth. Knowing how most predators operate, I'd put my money on it passing on the risks associated with attacking a healthy adult nine times out of ten
Harold Squared Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 If the technology to perform such an experiment is ever developed odds are that the dinosaur camp will not do so. Score one potentially for Team Mammal! Silly? Maybe, but consider the only Earth creatures to visit the Moon have been mammals.
