Robittybob1 Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 Ultimate McLaren revealed ahead of Geneva debut http://www.msn.com/en-nz/news/other/ultimate-mclaren-revealed-ahead-of-geneva-debut/ar-BBhIhOE?ocid=UP97DHP It has speed written all over it. Great design!
John Cuthber Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 As far as I can tell,it has McLaren written all over it. How many miles to the gallon?
Robittybob1 Posted February 21, 2015 Author Posted February 21, 2015 As far as I can tell,it has McLaren written all over it. How many miles to the gallon? If you can afford one of these, you buy the petrol station as well.
John Cuthber Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 Judging by this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McLaren_P1 it's probably below 20 MPG. I don't think I will bother.
overtone Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 A lot of the vehicles on the road get under 20 mpg in actual use. Ownership of that one is by invitation only. Can anyone here translate 986 brake horsepower and a vehicle weight estimate into how fast that thing could go 0-60mph straight up - vertical climb?
John Cuthber Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 If the wiki page is right it is 1395 kg in mass and we probably need a few SI units The weight is 13685 N 60 mph is 26.8 m/s The power is 735KW I will leave the calculation as an exercise for the interested reader.
Klaynos Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 A lot of the vehicles on the road get under 20 mpg in actual use. Not where I live. I have a pretty standard hatch and average 50 mpg. My dad has a 4wd and gets closer to 35. This is really veering off topic though.
