Can we eat what we want and keep shape at the same time

It really depends on multiple factors but as a general idea, yes, it would be possible if on a daily basis your organism uses the same amount of energy as you consume with food. Not much of an eye-opener, is it? :)

"As we want" seems to be the operative phrase here. Our wants are pretty variable.

We have some interesting challenges as a species. Our intelligence allows for the imagination to create tools that reduce the amount of work we have to do, which takes away some of our best opportunities for physical exercise. And somehow that same intelligence has a hard time getting through when the subject is chocolate cake.

For teenagers, chances are eating anything will keep the shape at the same time.

Now find out what/why differs in the forties...

I think the answer is partially... wisdom. Teenagers often run around like crazy people, ignorant of duplication of effort, constantly on the move just to be moving. When you reach your forties, you have a much better grasp of how to be more efficient with your energy. You don't run up and down the stairs ten times to transfer individual items, you put the items on the step and take it all up in one trip. You arrange your kitchen so when you make coffee, for instance, you don't have to move all over the kitchen to put the whole thing together.

Of course, this means you move less. You're actively looking for ways to move less by being wiser and more efficient. If you can adjust your eating habits accordingly, you'll probably be able to keep your shape for the most part. If you're forty and still eat like a teenager, well then, probably not.

Is it possible for us to eat as many kinds of good as we want and keep shape at the same time? :P

Top sportswomen here said she is eating 6000 kcal per day. You would like to have muscles as she.. :)

I was eating something 3000-4000 kcal (without counting 3-4 beers). And making 300 push ups/day (my record is 1000 or 1100 in a day) + a lot of other trainings. With constant BMI ~21

Currently day training is weight lifting 3600 kg in couple various exercises in series during whole day.

..as long as you keep thinking about particles & quantum physics while doing all these exercises..

Interesting topic! I seemed to remember that a new biotech study can illustrate this. In scientists’ words, BDNF, secreted after physical exercise can control the body weight by extracting signals to inhibit food intake.
