Sorcerer Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Would that be a good thing or a bad thing. lol.Are superorganisms more resistant to extinction?
EdEarl Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 In what sense good or bad. Continued survival is good for our species, and bad for animals that become extinct because of us. We are already very resistant to extinction, since we are the dominant species on the Earth. We have already made Polio and Smallpox nearly extinct and probably can make them totally extinct, as well as many larger animals such as the dodo and passenger pigeon. The main thing we need to secure survival of humanity is a colony on another planet or moon, which some think will occur before the end of this century.

I take it by “super organism” you mean something like bee’s or ant’s; in which case no, that type of society require ‘stigmergy’ which would exclude humans by definition. Bees don’t seem to be.
