Externet Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Or is it an elaborated scam ? Does charism play any role with hypnosis ? Can relevant historical events as from charismatic leaders change/re-route behavior and beliefs of populations permanently ? When young, witnessed a serious relative hypnotizing someone. Still in my retina. But always kept an 'agnostic' feeling. If there is science; a perfect replication of the hypnotizing 'process' should always work... Could then a 'machine' as a computer program do it consistently ?

The authors concluded that there was medium efficacy for International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10)-codable disorders, and low efficacy for medical procedures. Given the lack of methodological and study details, and potential for error and bias, these results should be treated with caution. . http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0272735813000457 Highlights • This meta-analysis investigates the efficacy of hypnosis in surgical patients. • Benefits of hypnosis on various surgically relevant outcomes are demonstrated. • Methodological quality is for the first time systematically examined in this context.
