Silencer Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 Is this compound possible? Someone asked me and I wasn't sure. I mean, Mg is +2 and O is -2, so you would think you'd just get MgO. But what if you had the Mg bonded to two O, and then those two O bonded to a third, to make like a square. Would that be stable?
H2SO4 Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 It might be possible, but just extremeley unstable. Probaly impact sensitive. Try a google search on magnesium trioxide
