Will a person suffocate if their inner ears are destroyed?

Well you can't really book an appointment just to ask a question here that's why I'm asking on these kinds of sites.

Like Acme says: he can hear therefore his inner ear is OK. Concerning critical systems, such as breathing regulation, tthe body has system redundancy i.e. backup systems in the event of failure. It is just that in very young babies it is being speculated in your link, with respect to possible causes of SIDS, that this redundancy is not yet developed. This is a summary of what I've already said and I cannot add any more.

I think we're done here. LisaLiel, as your questions concerns the health of your brother, you should be seeking proper advice from a professional. The Internet is hardly the place for it.
