Hans de Vries Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Di normal melanocytes cause cancer or they have to be mutated ones? Say if you inject a normal melanocytes into the bloodstream, would they cause cancer, be destroyed by the immune system or simply float for some time and die?
CharonY Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Why should melanocytes cause cancer in the first place? To be precise cancer (as disease) is due to malignant growth, and something has to cause that (such as mutations, as mentioned). If you inject your own cells you would not expect an immune response.
