If you add an image url the preview is perfect - but when you press post it tells you that this format is not allowed in this community. Lots of the wiki stuff is done in SVG and might make it easier to post with full attribution if we could just copy across the already formatted BBcode for a diagram
Endy0816 Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Hacking potential maybe? Code could be sanitized though. There may be a module or something that can be added. If you go into the image's page, you may be able to find a png version. ie. though I do agree that doing this is a bit cumbersome.

You don't need to search for real image alternative: simply make screen-shot while displaying SVG in browser, cut image, and auto-trim (to remove border around it). Edited April 27, 2015 by Sensei

As a member of staff I try to check the copyright status of members postings - and it would be nice to have a simple solution to all diagrams and pictures on wikipedia that gave the photographer/artist/designer the credit they deserve with just a cut'n'paste As an example with a jpg. Rather than upload an image (which loses all reference to creator), or use a url which loses most of the attributions you can just do this 1. click on image on wikipedia 2. click more details 3. click use on web 4. copy bbcode 5. paste bbcode Triangles (spherical geometry) [GFDL http://www.gnu.org/copyleft/fdl.html) or CC BY-SA 3.0 (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0)], by Lars H. I realise the diagram format exists and is available for public use - I wonder why the forum stops us using it - if you see my post above there is a screenshot of a post preview in which the diagram previews perfectly but you get a prohibition when you try to post
