BottomlessOlive Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Many times a person is faced with a causality dilemma. Is there a general framework for solving such problems? For example, if "A cannot happen unless B happens, but B cannot happen unless A happens", one possible approach to solving the problem is to guess or assume something about A, determine B, then repeat until A and B hopefully satisfy some desired outcome.
Spyman Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Do you have any real examples of causality dilemmas that can be solved?
Avalanche2001 Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 (edited) Life is a perfect example of this problem: life cannot be if death does not happen, but death cannot be if life does not happen. This is such with many opposites. Edited May 20, 2015 by Avalanche2001
Spyman Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 I agree that life is needed for death to happen, but I don't see how death is needed for life to happen. Life happens before and until death, not after or on any condition that death must occur.
