The Peon Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 Is the chat room dead? I only see a blank box when I try to get it running...
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 Is the chat room dead? I only see a blank box when I try to get it running... Do you have Java installed properly?
The Peon Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 Do you have Java installed properly? Good question... I will have to see if I have it set up properly. Damn... Need to reset comp to see if this works. Edit: Bah still no luck... wtf... Any ideas how to get this to work? DING! Got it.
macmac Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 If you like a nice line in sarcasm and pointlessness the chat room is great! /part
AzurePhoenix Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 I for one would point out that the sarcasm is a valuable point unto itself.
YT2095 Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 WOOT! If you like a nice line in sarcasm and pointlessness the chat room is great! our Chatroom gets some Good Press at last
Klaynos Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 Oh dear, I go out for a few hours and this happens...
ecoli Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 I love the IRC... except when AzurePhoenix is there. oh wait.. I never like IRC. (just teasing.)
Klaynos Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 Just a short note for anyone who's going to try, it's quite often than the people on the channel are doing other stuff, like posting in the forums, so if you pop in to stay hi, it's best if you give us a few mins to reply (I've been known to take over an hour to reply to comments made directly at me, but that's just me, there'll normally be someone about). Once a couple people start talking others normally join in...
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 The server and your client periodically "ping" each other, sending a bit of data and waiting for a response. This helps them determine network status and speed, as well as if they're still connected. If it takes too long for the response to come, it's called a "timeout", and your client disconnects because it thinks something broke.
JTM³ Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 Well, I think it's broke...or I did something wrong setting it up. (In my profile that is, I use Icechat) Is it still on or is it down?
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 You'll want to connect to blackcobalt.no-ip.org rather than blackcobalt.net.
Klaynos Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 or: irc.oppresses.us irc.apocalypse.me.uk Over the next few days I'd recommend connection to: cube.xyloid.org or eris.oppresses.us (And trust me I know what I'm talking about)
Rakdos Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 did we die again? I'm connected to cube and noone else is here.
Klaynos Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 Also irc.oppresses.us should now work as should blackcobalt.no-ip.org currently pointing towards cube. Sorry about this.
Klaynos Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 bouncy bouncy.... irc.oppresses.us irc.apocalypse.me.uk
Klaynos Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 eris should work :~S Dunno wtf is up with Raider though, just wont respond...
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 I think the Java client might be broken until the IRC server comes back up.
Klaynos Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 I think it might be back up.... CDarwin clicking on the SFN Chatroom link at the top or the "Use IRC" one in my signiture and it should automatically connect.
CDarwin Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 I think it might be back up.... CDarwin clicking on the SFN Chatroom link at the top or the "Use IRC" one in my signiture and it should automatically connect. I wasn't there before...
