Here are a few of my favorite science forums:

http://www.sciforums.com/

http://www.iidb.org/vbb/

http://www.christianforums.com/ (they have some science sections and I like debating the Christians)

http://www.frostcloud.com/

http://www.atheistnetwork.com/

http://www.ilovephilosophy.com/phpbb/

http://www.philosophyforums.com/

There are other forums as well, but they have a censorship policy, so I don't wish to give them any promotion.

Dude.

The admin of this forum are not book burners. Why would it matter if you made an index of other science forums?

There is no problem with letting our members know there are other science forums on the net. We are grateful for our membership and encourage them to seek knowledge from diverse areas.

I'm not sure what legalities are involved linking to other sites, however. They may not be as open-minded about sharing members. blike owns this site, so perhaps you should PM him about this.

Because owners of other forums often have policies about not posting links to competing forums. So, I was just being respectful. It has nothing to do with the legal issue of posting links.

Oo, I've been wondering whether it would be appropriate to make a plug for my own site as it is a technology/science website but don't want to get on the wrong side fo anybody. Oh well, at the risk of seeming like an advertiser my site is http://www.cyberneticsonline.com I've started putting up content and have a lot more to go yet. It received 45 different visitors over the weekend which I don't think is bad considering it's only been up since Thursday. Please post in the forums, despite the traffic nobody has stopped to post. :)

No, the mods here are [i'] nice [/i]

Okey, I've edited my first post of this thread and included some science forums that I like. You will have to go back and look at them.

We don't really have a problem with links to science sites - our main competitors are known to all anyway.

It's the adverts for sites selling knocked-off pharmaceuticals and pictures of boobies we can do without.
