Piezoelectric actuators

Hey, guys.

Right, I have a dilemma regarding this matter.

I need the piezoelectric actuator to vibrate at high frequency. What kind of power source should I be looking at? The application is for something compact.

As far as my knowledge goes, DC will move it just once, but AC will give it a vibration.

Is that the case? What other inputs can you give me?

Sounds like you would need oscillator

Start from making multivibrator on breadboard like in figure 1 in above link.

Connect 2 LEDs to see how they turn on/off light.

Get familiar with how capacitance and resistance changes delays of blinking light.

Then move further from this setup.

"high frequency" means nothing.

What is the frequency you want the piezoelectric element to vibrate ? Will you apply alternating voltage to it or will you apply alternating motion to it ?
