silverghoul1 Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Now I DON'T want to start a full on debate war (in which case I would be amused by) and i would be very happy (lack of caring*) if you dont go around, trying chaNing othere opinions. I want to know the full layout of who's truly supiorer of what phone technology, Apple or Samsung.
mathematic Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 There are "experts" who make these comparisons. Try checking a few.
Sensei Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 (edited) There is large difference between them: - Apple designs iPhone, and iOS is their own product, 3rd party companies, Chinese are producing it. - Samsung is electronic company designing Samsung Galaxy Sx etc. and producing them by them self, but operating system, Android is licensed from Google. 3rd party company. Apple can add anything they want to their product and OS, as they have direct control over operating system and device. Samsung is not in such luxury position. They're limited to what Google will give them. Personally I have Samsung Galaxy S5. Apple has some nasty politics for 3rd party applications developers. Google have much better. I can host my own Android application on my FTP server (with HTTP), and then visit that website from device, and app will be installed without any problems. Without any bothering either Google/Samsung companies. For spy-aps like f.e. GPS moniting app for truck transport company, it's the only way, as Google Play Store disallows apps that gather data without knowledge of user of app (truck driver). swansont Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 It depends on what features and functions you like, if you're talking about the overall phone. If you truly mean the computer inside, Apple's processor (the Ax series) is significantly better than anything in a Samsung phone. Apples's integration means you also have access to the latest operating system and patches, while the Samsung method of updates through the carrier means the carrier decides if the updates are mad. A smaller fraction of Samsung (or any Android) phones are up-to-date, and therefore vulnerable to hacks via outdated software. A less fragmented OS environment also means it's easier to write software for iOS, so a lot of apps come out for Apple first. (much like how Macs are an afterthought in the "larger computer" world)
fiveworlds Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Actually you can fake google's cert for Google play and do pretty much anything. :-)
Externet Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 The 'best' is not in the market yet. It could some day be a computing tablet with a very slim detachable telephone handset on its side; Bluetooth or wired. Hope they make one soon... A pencil thin handset that recharges when nested in its tablet side 'craddle' I envision something like this that can double as carrying handle :
TJ McCaustland Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Well snapdragon processors are really good in Androids, but then again Apples UI is nice but it has security issues........ If you want a truly K.A. phone buy the components you require for what you're going to do, either buy an OS like KitKat or Jellybean (Or make one yourself if you're the next Steve Jobbs.) and then pick up a casing and a nice battery, and maybe a nice decal or two. I personally recommend Snapdragon processors, although if you make a mini Ipad phone just get a Nvidia PC processor Oh and by the way I think this is a bit of a cold war situation, Both sides have great stuff and big weaknesses, and both are about equal, But the question is who will come out on top?
