They want to avoid boredom. 3. They like the social opportunities afforded by work. 4. They prefer work to their home life. 5. They like working. 6. Other. It is observed that people with Asperger's syndrome are workaholics. All people with Asperger's syndrome? Most people? Some people? How do rates compare with non-Asperger's people? A citation would answer those. Is work an attribute of the mind? I have no idea what this means. Do you wish to explain? In fact, in Japan, work related suicides (karoshi) are said to be not uncommon. Many people overwork and die from entirely different causes, some of them decades after they stop working. Secondly, will you be addressing the points and questions raised in my earlier post? I do it for a couple of reasons: - beyond merely geting my work done I often propose alternative means to accomplish objectives. That requires extra time. I enjoy doing thinking of alternatives the same way many people enjoy puzzles and it comes with the add perk of improving my work environment. - I want to do a good job. Spending a few extra hours on a project allows me to double and triple check my work. I rather find my own mistakes than someone else find them. - Doing a good job and improvement my environment sets me up for success down the road. I am not sure I fully understand the context of your question. You asks the question as if working extended hours is automatically a bad thing? I am relatively young, do not have any children, have a career of my choosing that I enjoy, so why wouldn't I spend some extra time knocking a few things out? You may re-open it if you were to give supporting citations for the twp claims in the OP, but that's the only way.
