elizsia
Everything starts from an Idea... Not Fact, But an Idea... The Problem with Science, is it always discredits the Idea until it creates the idea.... Even when the Idea is the very thing that creates the world you live in... Why do you all feel so insulted and offended by an Idea? Its dumb... This in itself in my idea... you dont even need to respond to it... why do you respond? If you respond then respond with your own idea... Stop feeling insulted and offended by ideas that were never yours to begin with....
Strange
Why do you think people are insulted or offended? People are just bored of ignorant people spouting random nonsense and expecting to be taken seriously. Maybe you should learn how science actually works, instead of making stuff up. Arete
The Problem with Science, is it always discredits the Idea until it creates the idea.... Even when the Idea is the very thing that creates the world you live in... This is incorrect. When applying the scientific method, one starts with an idea. That idea is then tested using observations of empirical data. If the data support the idea, it is upheld. If the data do not support the idea, it is rejected. The problem I see with your posts here is that you're putting forth ideas, but no data, or framework to test these ideas. As a result, your discussion technique is somewhat incoherent, and your ideas are scientifically invalid. If you could present each idea along with a framework to test them, and the data you either used or intend to use to do so, it would lead to more productive discussion. Ten oz
Science investigates what already exists: gravity, atoms, DNA, etc. Science is generally asking the questions "why" and "how". Can you elaborate on what ideas you feel science creates? Ideally science should be creating answers.

Thousands of years ago, Science didnt even know about gravity or atoms or DNA.... Its only recently science found out..... So you dont really know what your saying.... Science investigates what already exists... When science has doesnt know what exists... You think you have found everything that exists............. You know nothing... Science investigates what aleady exists.... Then you have pretty much stated science can not understand all things, because it only investigates what already exists.... You dont know everything that exists... So basically, you've come to a science forum with this perspective to troll us. You don't understand science, but feel qualified to preach against it. Stand on a soapbox and shout over any dissenters. You mistakenly think that because we don't know everything, we know nothing. This is a really immature stance. You aren't listening. Every response shows more and more that you'll just keep injecting uninformed, ignorant bile against something you refuse to learn before you reject. We'll spend so much wasted time patiently explaining how the scientific method REALLY works, not the crap you've picked up and strung together from browsing, but you'll continue to keep your fingers in your ears. Why did you choose SFN to troll? How quickly did the other forums kick you off? Why should we talk to someone who won't listen?

Phi for All
I wonder if the OP would a bit fit here when not under the influence of hallucinogens. It's hard to overcome that Confirmation Bias. When you look at all similar posts, you see the OP constantly misinterpreting the responses from other posters. Conclusions arrived at irrationally can't be undone with reason and critical thinking. It forces the OP to be more and more irrational in order to continue the argument.

We didn't know what Gravity was but we knew that what went up came back down. Gravity is the answer to the why and how. As posted those are the questions science answers. You seem to be confusing "what we know about" with "what already exists". I am more logical than emotional..... You don't come across that way. everyone has their own logic and reasoning Not really. Logic is a formal discipline. You can't have your own logic any more than you can have your own arithmetic. (Although I wouldn't be surprised to see an incoherent rant from you about how 2 + 2 = 5.) Phi for All
I am more logical than emotional..... everyone has their own logic and reasoning, its doesnt all have to do with science... You assume logic and reason belongs only to scientific thinkers? I think popular media has rewritten the definition of a lot of scientific concepts to dumb them down for the non-scientist reader. Theory and logic are the two most misused. They've redefined "theory" to mean "an untested guess that may have merit", when real theories are the culmination of thousands of scientists working to build meticulous models that accurately describe specific phenomena. There's no guesswork involved at all by the time science starts calling an hypothesis an actual theory. Theories are the most trustworthy explanations we currently have. Logic is mathematical reasoning that follows a rigorous course to derive meaning. It's not just something that "makes sense to me". Logic is not subjective or individual; it would be worthless as a tool if it were. So we're not assuming that scientific logic and reason only belong to scientific thinkers. We're observing the evidence that you're talking about a popular version of "logic" (this-makes-sense-to-me), and then claiming to be persecuted when you get replies, from a science discussion site, that use the scientific definition. I hope you read all of this, and will not simply be responding emotionally to one of the first few things I said.
