Akron47 Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Guys does anyone know about octals and hexals?
Sensei Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 (edited) I know about octal and hexadecimal https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octal https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hexadecimal But it's mathematics, not engineering.. Unless you meant software engineering? But it's part of computer science area. Edited January 11, 2016 by Sensei
imatfaal Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Do you mean in metal-graphite compounds (MetalC6 and MetalC8)? Would be better to ask in Chemistry in that case. Like Sensei I don't immediately see an Engineering connexion with your question
kisai Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 They are both really just ways for human beings to chunk strings of binary numbers. Your computer will only deal with 0's and 1's.
Akron47 Posted January 12, 2016 Author Posted January 12, 2016 Actually it was asked in engineering entrance exams thats why I posted it here. And majorly it was for civil engineering, can you guys believe it.. The question was => 137 + 276 = 435, then how much is 731 + 672 Thanks alot Sensei for the links.. It gave me all the details i was looking for..
