MigL Posted August 4, 2021 Posted August 4, 2021 Like the Moby Dick/Melville references, Joigus. Here's one of my favorites ... There's also the quote from Star Trek: the Wrath of Khan ... “…To the last, I grapple with thee; from hell’s heart, I stab at thee; for hate’s sake, I spit my last breath at thee.” - Moby-Dick, quoted by Khan Noonien Singh Seems Star Trek writers liked H Melville. 2

Outstanding acting. Plus Patrick Stewart was Ahab himself too: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120756/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_93 1

Externet Posted August 28, 2021 Posted August 28, 2021 Sadly, it is reality. My father used to say "That is a fireman idea" when it was not bright at all... and I have seen it proven several times. 1
TheVat Posted August 28, 2021 Posted August 28, 2021 Yikes! That made me cringe as much as laugh. I feel there has to be more to this than what the picture shows, because that looks just f--ing insane. Are those pads made of some special material that will give way enough to allow the train wheels to stay in the groove and yet not cut or burst the hose? Hard to imagine.
zapatos Posted August 28, 2021 Posted August 28, 2021 Either they are going to be unable to fight the fire, or they will have a second fire to fight.

TheVat Posted September 9, 2021 Posted September 9, 2021 What our house needs is a Schrodinger litter box. There's no definite poop in it unless you observe the box.
MigL Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 That song should have been banned long ago, Beecee. It's a lawsuit waiting to happen.
John Cuthber Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 To the enormous relief of everyone named "Faith", the same fate has befallen this
beecee Posted September 17, 2021 Posted September 17, 2021 A woman walked into the kitchen to find her husband stalking around with a fly swatter "What are you doing?" She asked. "Hunting Flies" He responded. "Oh. ! Killing any?" She asked. "Yep, 3 males, 2 Females," he replied. Intrigued, she asked. "How can you tell them apart?" He responded, "3 were on a beer can, 2 were on the phone

TheVat Posted November 26, 2021 Posted November 26, 2021 Sometimes news editors, in their haste to churn out stories, fail to catch ambiguities in their headlines. Here are a few documented cases... Drunk gets nine months in violin case. Police squad helps dog bite victim. Eighth Army push bottles up Germans. Woman better after being thrown from high rise. Solar system expected to be back in operation.
