H.P.T Mobbster Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 The Right Path..... Theres a fork in a road. And at the fork there are two twin brothers, one tells the truth and the other one always lies.Which one question can you ask them to find the correct path to take. Someone pls answers this my prof. wants the answer by friday and i just can't figure out i think im overworked right now.
Dapthar Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 Here's a solution, but it spoils all the fun: http://www.cut-the-knot.com/impossible/brothers.shtml
YT2095 Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 ask each what color socks or other arbitrary clothing/item easily verifiable that they`re wearing or have on them that`s different. the rest will be easily established after that
darth tater Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 Pointing to either of the paths, turn to either of the twins and ask: "if I were to ask you if this is the right path to my destination, what would you say?"
Callipygous Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 nice tater, also, "which path would your brother say is right?" will get either of them pointing at the wrong path.
Dak Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 ask each what color socks or other arbitrary clothing/item easily verifiable that they`re wearing or have on them that`s different. that would be a waste of your one question. this is an oldy!
BenSon Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 Ask them what path they would have told you to go down yesterday they will both point to the correct path Wasn't this in throught the looking glass or something? ~Scott
quick silver Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 ask the brother that always lies, which is the right path. then take the other path. is this right?
