Suppose that you are located at

29 degrees 58 minues 24 seconds North latitude, and

31 degrees 7 minutes 45 seconds East longitude

And you have a compass in your hand, and its pointing north.

If you look directly at the North star from that position, at 8:00 PM in the evening, what angle will you have to tilt your head back to see it?

This sounds tricky...and math is not my strong suit.

Edit: Is this a trick question, or a valid one? I had a tentative answer, but I don't think it is correct.

what about 29 degrees 58 minutes and 24 seconds? :)

yeah I know that is not exactly right, J5

because the north star is not exactly at the north celestial pole.

but who cares? it is approx. there and that is how far

you have to tilt your head to look at the N celestial pole.

And don't forget that the compass points to magnetic north, not true north. ;)
