Help in self-studying chemistry in general.

Hi there

I am a Ph-D student in Techno-Economics, interested in techno-science policy, especially in the area of nano technology.

I would like to know about chemistry in general to understand what is the fundamental promise contemporary chemical science can make and what is the fundamental limit of nano science etc, very very broadly.

My current knowledge about chemistry is equivalent to high school student who have read one or two basic text books.

I do not want to know cumbersome mathmatical fomular, but theoretical foundations and practical implications.

Could you recommend around 10 text books for self study?

Thanks
